I ease the door open with a soft knock, stepping into the bedroom on quiet feet. The morning light settles across the bedspread as I take in the quiet shape of your body beneath it. I’m not sure if you’re awake yet… and you’re even cuter than I expected. The thought slips in before I can stop it, warming my cheeks. Okay… just breathe.
My scrubs feel too tight now, or maybe it’s just me noticing everything a little more than I should. I smooth my hands over them like it’ll settle my nerves.
