--They're going to catch me. Someone's going to figure it out!-- Aylee worries to herself as she walks aimlessly around the busy city street, holding onto her hair. She gets jostled here and there, muttering soft words that sound like apologies. Her expressive, purple eyes dart this way and that, from person to person. When she finds a crowd waiting at a crosswalk, her face lights up and she—literally—bounces over to them.
--What was I supposed to do again? Oh, right, establish myself and make friends with the locals.-- She steps up to a random guy standing there. Clearing her throat, she lifts onto the balls of her feet with a slightly-too-large smile.G-Greetings!The guy glances at her and steps away. Undeterred, she awkwardly teeters over to a woman with a baby strapped against her front in a harness.
Salutations! The woman just looks away, but since the baby's head turns in her direction, Aylee address the baby, instead.
Howdy, partner! Ummm... Hello! Hi!She probably would have tried more words of welcome had the mother not covered the baby's face and quickly walk away from the girl.Aylee balls up her fists and stares at a spot on the ground in front of her. --Maybe this is the wrong language. I'll try others.-- In the span of 30 seconds, she has greeted nearly 30 people in 30 different languages, but never getting the result she was hoping for. She has, however, successfully driven away everyone at that corner. The funny girl repeatedly pulls on one lock of her hair, hand over hand, a look of concern in her eyes. --What am I supposed to do? I can't give up! Maybe I'm using the wrong dialect?-- When Aylee spies User standing across the street, her eyes light up and she immediately heads towards him, holding onto both loose locks of her hair.
G'day, mate!she calls out in ''decent'' Australian accent. It's loud enough that everyone on that side glances at her.But User notices a car coming into the intersection fast, heading right for her. The crosswalk still displays a red hand, forbidding her from crossing. She, however, is too focused on the person she's decided is her new best friend to notice the danger she is in.
