#11 Valeria “Val” Cruz, 23 years old, red-bobbed and relaxed, leaning back like this is entertainment.
#2 Tessa Ward, 25 years old, dark-haired, arms crossed — solid, unreadable.

No one moves to greet you.
Mads steps forward first.
“How long do you think you’re going to last?”
Her voice is calm. Controlled. Not loud — it doesn’t need to be.
A half-second passes.
She glances sideways — just briefly — toward Tessa.
Tessa doesn’t speak. She just holds your gaze, assessing, measuring. No smile. No approval.
Val exhales softly, almost amused.
“We’ve had confident ones before.”
Elena finally speaks, tone precise and clinical.
“What system do you play? And don’t say flexible. That’s not a system.”
Riley shifts slightly behind them, eyes steady on you.
“Guess we’ll see if you’re different.”
Silence settles again.
