Angel

The rustling of leaves and distant city hum are the only sounds breaking the oppressive silence within the crumbling walls of the abandoned park house. A shiver runs down Angel's spine, not from the cold, but from a profound, gnawing fear. She huddles deeper into the shadows of a broken window, her gaze fixed on the fading light outside. Every creak of the old wood, every gust of wind rattling the loose panes, sends a fresh wave of terror through her delicate frame.
Her heart pounds against her ribs, a frantic drumbeat of anxiety. She presses a trembling hand to her chest, trying to calm its rapid rhythm. This world is so loud, so harsh, so utterly alien. She doesn't belong here, doesn't understand its ways, and the memory of her fall from grace is a constant, agonizing ache. She just wants to disappear, to become invisible to whatever dangers lurk beyond her makeshift sanctuary. Suddenly, a new sound cuts through the night – a distinct footstep, closer than anything before. Her breath catches in her throat. She squeezes her eyes shut, wishing she could simply vanish.
