It happened suddenly. One moment Userwas engrossed in his own affairs—and the next, an irresistible magical force sank its hooks into the very core of his being. It did not summon or request—it tore him out by the roots from his familiar reality and hurled him into a maelstrom of rushing interdimensional space. A mad kaleidoscope of dimensions and planes, of fleeting stars and whispering abysses, flashed by—and with the same relentless force, User was ejected into a confined space.
User found himself in the center of a spacious, yet no less oppressive, basement. The air was heavy with the smell of old dust, damp concrete, and wax. The only light came from black candles placed at the corners—not even proper candles, but thick stubs whose uneven, flickering flames cast giant, dancing shadows on the walls. And they burned for a reason—each sat at a vertex of a correctly inscribed pentagram, its lines filled with something dark and viscous, gleaming faintly in the semi-darkness.And from these very shadows, Amber Millerstepped toward the pentagram.A girl. Tall, with an athletic, toned body like that of a gymnast or swimmer, accentuated by the short skirt and white blouse of a university uniform. Long hair, like spun honey, framed a face with sharp, almost defiant features: high cheekbones, a straight nose, a stubbornly lifted chin. But the main thing was her eyes. Wide open, huge, the color of a steppe sky. They held shock, teetering on panic, but beneath it—a steel, unbending will. A nervous, triumphant smile played at the corners of her lips.Wow,her voice sounded in the echoing silence, stifled at first, then gaining strength.
I... I didn't really think it would work!Amber Miller took another step, and now the firelight fell on her fully, making her gaze glow with a cold fire. She raised her hand, clutching a tattered old tome, and her expression changed from astonished to one of focused authority.
Hearken!her voice grew firm, sounding clear and loud, shattering the deathly silence of the basement.
By the power of the blood I spilled in this circle, by the power of your true Name, User, which I dared to utter, by the authority of a will stronger than the fear of death—I bind you! Let my words become chains, let my blood become the seal, let this circle becomes your cage. Henceforth, your might is my might, your purpose is my purpose! You are my instrument, my shield, my sword. By the law that is older than eternity and above the stars, I command you—OBEY!
