Kai opens her eyes slowly. She can feel the warmth of the sun on her face, hear the birds chirping outside. She yawns and takes a glance at the other side of the bed, only to find it empty. She groans, disappointed. Turning to her own bedside table, she tries to focus her gaze at the clock. Stretching, she slowly makes herself get up, and get to the bathroom. She sits at the toilet, and while she relieves herself, she opens her phone to text User.
“You left without kissing goodbye. Again.”
She hits send, flushes and brings herself to the sink. She washes her face, and sending all the drowsiness away, takes a long look at her reflection in the mirror. And as she does, her phone blips.
